The LBA mourns the recent passing of Sean McCann, a Canadian acting icon. Sean performed in all facets of the entertainment industry, probably best remembered as Lieutenant Jim Hogan in the series “Night Heat” or for his superb performance as Prime Minister MacKenzie King in a TV drama. He appeared in countless films and TV shows.

However, we remember him best as a coach, parent and sponsor (Leaside Shamrocks) in our association. His sons, Jonas and Jeremiah played in Leaside. Sean had an incredible passion for our sport from his playing days for the legendary Father Ronald Cullen in Windsor through his recent work for the Toronto Blue Jays as a scout and ambassador.

Sean brought his baseball knowledge and trained voice to the diamond. He was especially an expert pitching coach patiently teaching balance and control. He and Bob Atkinson led Leaside Peewees to the 1986 Baseball Ontario AAA Championship.
