Excited for Fall Ball 2021

We are so EXCITED to update you on the status of Leaside House League Fall Ball. It’s been a loooooong year waiting to get back on the diamonds! During this down time, our team has been hard at work planning an expanded autumn experience for you—conscious of the time we lost in the Spring of 2020 and then again in Spring 2021.

Our goal is to invite as many athletes as we safely can to join us for an action-packed, 6-week session (Aug 30-Oct 8) led by our extremely talented LBA Instructors. Our season will run from the end of summer until we lose the evening light just before Thanksgiving. We are pumped! We're also thrilled to announce the return of T-Ball! We can’t wait to welcome a new cohort of first-time ballplayers into the Leaside family and we hope that you will forward this email to anyone you know in the neighbourhood who may now be eligible (birth year 2016). Registration for Fall Ball will officially open at 9 am on Tuesday, August 10, 2021. Please stay tuned for more details—including the structure of gameplay at each level and confirmed session dates for each age band. Thank you so much for your continued support of Leaside Baseball. We look forward to seeing you soon!

We’re Being Honest When We Say to Register ASAP

House League registrations fill up quickly every year! Due to field permits and resource limitations, we will not be able to accommodate all interested families. As such, we recommend registering quickly after the registration window opens to ensure your child's spot!

House League Philosophy

The core philosophy of Leaside Baseball House League is to help players learn the game and develop their skills in a safe, positive, inclusive, and fun environment

The objective is for players to have fun while they build on the basics they learn throughout the season. Children should not be subjected to fierce competition or intense pressure to perform. House Leagues are intended to provide instruction in the fundamentals of baseball and to emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and fair play.

Having fun is of the utmost importance. Coaches and parents should provide encouragement,  use a supportive teaching approach, and model positive behaviour for all players.

Improvements for the 2021 Season

In partnership with the TDSB, we’re excited to welcome our players and families to a brand new Rolph Road PS east diamond. With grit, determination and deep baseball passion, this field has gone from a sandlot to a true baseball diamond that will allow us to continue our community-based baseball programming for years to come.

Learning Through FUN!

Our house league program is run by the same exceptional staff of coaches and counsellors that work at our Summer Camp and Development Clinics. Players get the benefit of fun, engaging, and really cool baseball skill development during the gameplay. At the best moment, they’ll be taught how to throw and catch, bat, and where to position in the field. Coaching and playing at the same time, best opportunity to develop and grow their love for the sport.

2021 Mosquito ("Atom") House League

Leaside Atom Baseball is a fully independent program from the Leaside Baseball Association and does not typically use online registration. Check their website for information on registration (expected to begin in mid-January):

Financial Assistance

The Leaside Baseball Association provides an opportunity for players in Leaside and the surrounding community to develop their skills and passion for baseball by offering a wide spectrum of quality baseball instruction and programming. To make this more feasible for youth who otherwise wouldn’t be able to enjoy the sport, we are proud to offer a financial assistance program. Leaside Baseball is committed to an equitable baseball experience for all of our families.

If you would like your child(ren) to participate in our programming and wish to seek financial assistance, please apply to our Playball Financial Assistance fund. All information remains confidential.
