House League FAQs & Registration

1. How do I register for the Leaside baseball house league?

Registration for all of our programs including House League (Spring & Fall), Summer Camp and the Fall & Winter Development Clinics happen on our Amilia registration website which can be found here: https://app.amilia.com/store/en/leasidebaseball/shop/programs

This site gets updated throughout the year for our various programs.

Once you click on a program, there will be a page with information on when registration opens, the status of registration (waitlist only or closed), cancellation policies and more!

2. What is the refund policy for house league?

You can view the cancellation policy of any program we have on our registration site or specific program page.

Spring House League: https://www.leasidebaseball.com/house-leagues-spring/
Fall House League: https://www.leasidebaseball.com/house-leagues-spring/

3. When does registration for your programs occur?

When a new registration date for a program is decided, we do 3 things:

  1. Post on our website (main page & division page - either Spring or Fall)
  2. Post on our Instagram page (@leasidebaseball)
  3. Include it in our monthly e-newsletters - include information on upcoming programs and events

If you would like to be added to our monthly e-newsletter, please subscribe on our 'Contact Us' page.

Typically, registration falls on a Tuesday and the following months are when registration for various programs typically occur. However, these are subject to change.

  • December - Spring House League registration
  • January - Summer Camp Registration
  • June - Fall House League registration
  • September - Fall & Winter Development Clinics

4. Why do returning house league players not get priority registration?

The LBA operates as a not-profit and community run organization. Our approach to registration is grounded in fairness and inclusivity with the goal of giving all families a reasonable opportunity to enroll each season.

Unfortunately, returning status does not guarantee placement. Spaces are allocated in a manner that balances opportunities for both returning and new participants.

5. Waitlist Questions

(a) What if the program I want my child to join is full on Amilia?

If the program you want to join is full, please add your child to the waitlist.

If we receive a cancellation and a spot becomes available for your child, we will contact you by email from houseleague@leasidebaseball.com with further details.

Please note that we are unable to provide specific waitlist numbers or estimated timelines.

We kindly ask that you do not email or call to inquire about your child's position on the waitlist, as this information cannot be provided.

(b) If my child is on a wait list when will we know whether they get in?

In each league a handful spots open up due to cancellations prior to the program start date. If this occurs, we will review the waitlist and offer the spot to the next person via email (from houseleague@leasidebaseball.com) giving them roughly 2-3 days to confirm interest.

6. I have volunteered to coach my son/daughter’s team, how do I let Leaside know I want to co-coach with another parent?

Co-coach information should be added to your child’s registration form under the section on ‘coaching’.  If you did not add the information at the time of registration, please email houseleague@leasidebaseball.com and cc the co-coach.

7. Why can’t you satisfy multiple friend requests?

We will consider one mutual friend request per player whenever possible. That said, placements cannot be assured, as team formation must also account for a range of other important factors such as coach availability, overall roster balance, and player skill levels.

Team building is a long and detailed process and accommodating multiple requests significantly increases the complexity and time required to create balanced teams.

However, we do try our best to accommodate as many friend requests as possible.

Only those who volunteer and are selected for coaching will have their child’s friend request prioritized.

8. Why doesn’t the LBA create more house league programs to satisfy the demand?

The LBA has grown significantly over the last 10 years, adding more and more teams and players every year in all of our programs! However, due to certain constraints we are unable to accommodate all interested families.

One of the biggest factors limiting us from expanding is field permits. Each year we apply to the existing permits we had the year prior as well as new ones. However, we are often only approved for the ones we already have as other organizations hold the permits for other fields. We are continuously monitoring demand and creating ways to expand our programming. If you would like to see Leaside Baseball receive more permits, please contact your local councillor.

9. What happens if a parent changes their child’s birth year on Amilia to register them in a program either a 'year up' or 'year down'?

Athletes may only register in the league corresponding to their birth year and are not permitted to alter their birth date.

Any registration found to contain false or modified birth information will be cancelled and refunded minus a $50 administrative fee.
