The Leaside Major Rookieball Selects (9U) team peaked at the right time and swept through the TBAs — going 6-0 en route to the City Championship.  The road was not easy as they had to beat their three toughest competitors in the same day including a spectacular come from behind effort against East York, eventually winning that game in extra innings.  The kids showed amazing fortitude by playing a strong and rested team from Wexford just 30 minutes later and winning that game by 1 run.

Ethan Isenberg and George Rawlinson were a fearsome defensive combo at SS/2B all weekend, at one point turning a double play that was major league level.  Reid Walters hit a 3-run moonshot homerun in extra innings against East York that was the hit of the weekend.  Kaja Kafka was cool as a cucumber turning big hits into outs with his glove in left field.   The win was a true team effort however.  All 12 kids had important roles and each had a hand in the victory whether it was a clutch hit or a timely defensive play.  It genuinely was a special weekend for everyone involved.
