Senior. Rookie Ball players born in 2008
Location: Rolph Rd.,Davisville and Bennington Heights Schools. (We could not get a permit for Hodgson due to consruction scheduled)
Time: Tuesdays 6:15pm -7:30pm (Parents and players may start showing up at 5:45pm to warm up)
Early Registration:December Late registration: March if space allows
Start Date: Tuesday May 2nd *practices will be on April 18th and 25th weather permitting
Season: May-June Structure: 10 Teams of 10-12 players each (but for the kids in the select program or the development program it's all year round)
WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEER COACHES! There will be a coaching clinic for parents in Early April for parents and coaches! We highly recommend that you attend!
-pitching machine must be set between 35-40mph
-PLAYERS GET EITHER 5 PITCHES OR 3 SWINGING STRIKES. The player can foul the last pitch as many times as they want.
- a no pitch will be a ball that is fails to reach home plate or is over the players head.. (player must not swing for a no pitch)
-A player will be called out on a strikout if he/she misses on their 3rd swing or fails to swing on their last pitch.
*Throwing the bat will be a warning at first and then an automatic out for a second time.
-Play is stopped when the runners are stopped on a base or an infield raises their hands and yells TIME
-Only infielders can call TIME. outfielders must relay the ball into the infield to stop play.
- Once TIME is called baserunners must return to the previous base if they are not already halfway (Umpires discretion)
-3 outs or a 5 run mercy will result in a switch
-Curfew is no new inning after an hour and 15 minutes from the first pitch
-Umpires will inform teams of last inning
-In the Last Inning there will be a 10 run mercy rule for teams to catchup and it also makes the games very interesting.
- any injuries in play will be an automatic dead ball and runners must stop at one base.
- hitting the pitching machine is an automatic single.
-Be incharge of your teams uniforms, pants, hats etc.
-Must be incharge of the team bag
-Try to switch your infields as many times as possible.
*NEW - Please have a catcher ready when up to bat with 2 outs to make tranistions faster.
- Keep scores and email them to me at email@example.com
- Inform me if you are having low turnouts or in need more players
- If you know you will be missing a week you must give your team bag to another parent!!
